Job Description

The primary purpose of the project management role is to lead, oversee and ensure the successful delivery and management of single or multiple projects within scope, quality, time and cost constraints that may be clearly defined or may require dynamic change management. This role requires the ability to manage various, simultaneous IT projects that are complex in nature. This individual works with project leads, team members, and business units to maintain project schedules and budgets and ensure timely completion of project. The IT Project Manager monitors and tracks compliance with Project Management methodology and provides metrics and status updates to project team members and key stakeholders. Being familiar with the system scope and project objectives is essential in this role, as well as having a strong understanding of the role and function of each team member in order to effectively monitor the activities of the team.

In addition to companies’s policies and procedures, principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones and required activities and tasks
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle and confer with project staff to outline work plan
  • Act as a coach to junior project managers, executives and others who need assistance and advice regarding project management practices
  • Tracking and removing impediments
  • Shielding the project team from outside distractions and interferences
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem-solving
  • Analyze project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations and appropriate process for accomplishing projects
  • Review/approve work plan of external service provider or consultancy contracted to execute project
  • Implement project communication plan
  • Identifying resources needed and assigning individual responsibilities
  • Managing day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
  • Effectively applying our methodology and enforces project standards
  • Conduct risk assessment and mitigation
  • Monitor project activities, ensuring the currency, quality and integrity of the information, while providing consistency in content and "look and feel" across the enterprise
  • Ensure that project goals are accomplished and in line with business objectives
  • Assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority to project personnel.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget
  • Ensuring project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
  • Updating IT Project Rollup and resource plans
  • Maintaining project documentation templates and historic project information library

The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Experience implementing a new software
  • Working with and managing, 3rd party vendors to achieve project objectives
  • Have knowledge of and the ability to develop, manage and drive budgets and work plans
  • Five or more years of BU or BU-facing experience, with sensitivity and commitment to business problem solving
  • Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams
  • Possess the ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical users
  • Be able to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Have the ability to multi-task in an effective manner and to work successfully in a fast-paced environment
  • Have the ability to draft routine correspondence and manage information and data in a confidential and professional manner
  • Possess the ability to balance the demands of new projects, maintenance and support, customer expectations and staff development
  • Be able to establish strong business relationships and work effectively with project team members and key stakeholders
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with solid listening, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Have strong project and time management skills, plus knowledge of project management methodology
  • Experience working in the restaurant, retail or hospitality industries
  • Have a B.S/B.A. in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or a related field; or an equivalent in education and experience
  • Have eight (8) years of experience in Project Management, preferably working with Information Systems
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
